Be sure to stop by the Kairos table in the Connections Cafe this Sunday. You can pick up a container for cookies, along with recipes. Sharing homemade cookies with the inmates at Ridgeland Correctional Institution is a highlight of the Kairos weekend. Not only do the inmates in the Kairos program get cookies, but every inmate in the facility. That is 1200 inmates! And they don’t just get one cookie! They get multiple cookies delivered throughout the weekend. Please help our team by baking a few dozen! They are needed by Sunday, October 20th.

In addition to cookies you can help offset the cost of the weekend with a financial donation. And one of the most powerful aspects of the weekend is when they stretch out the prayer chain and tell the inmates that each link represents someone praying for them over the course of the weekend! Can you imagine a paper chain that reaches around a gym several times! Be a link in that chain!

House churches

If you are not part of a house church, you need to find one! These groups are where #realcommunity happens! New house churches have been formed and all of our house churches are open to new members! Check them out here. Find one that works with your schedule, then request to join.

Child Dedication (10.20.19)

If you want to place your parenting under the lordship of Christ, this service is for you. The practice of dedicating children is rich in church and biblical tradition. God's word speaks abundantly about the responsibility of parents in passing the torch of faith to their children. This dedication service on October 20th is more about the parents than the kids. It is you who will stand up in view of your church family and proclaim your intentions to do all within your power to raise your children to know and follow Jesus. It is you who will invite into your parenting both the encouragement and accountability of your Live Oak church family.

Annual Church Picnic (10.20.19)

Our annual church picnic will be on Sunday, October 20th, following the second service! We will be at the Bluffton Rotary Building at Oscar Frazier Park (10 Recreation Court, Bluffton). There is a playground available for the kiddos! You can also bring games to play in the field. The church will provide chicken (fried and baked), drinks, and paper products. We need you to fill in the rest of the food with your favorite potluck dish!

Man Church (10.16.19)

What is Man Church? It’s just what it sounds like! Men getting together once a month to worship, hear the word, pray, and fellowship! If that sounds like something you are interested in, please join us on Wednesday, October 16th, at the Ministry Center at 7:00. This month’s topic is Why we were created.
