We hope everyone is enjoying their summer! As you all scatter over the next couple of months, don’t forget about us! You can catch the sermons every week on our website, app, or Facebook Live! Our Weekly is available on the app so you can keep up with upcoming events. And you can continue to give through the app or website! So while you are riding amusement park rides, seeing the Grand Canyon, or just sitting on a beach somewhere, stay in touch with us.
Also if you can help out with serving over the summer, let us know. We will be glad to put you on the schedule!
Ukraine Missions Trip
Carmen Marflak, Christy Personett, and Lisa Evangelista are preparing to head to the Ukraine next month to put on a Women’s Retreat for our compassion partners at Island Christian Church! They are going to be putting together goodie bags for this trip! Please stay tuned for how you can donate items (amazon wish list) for the ladies. They leave on July 24th.
Financial donations are being accepted to help cover the cost of the rental of the retreat center, cooking class and taking the Ukraine ministers/wives out to dinner one night, and any deficits in the funds for airfare/travel insurance for the team. You can give on line through the app or website. Please make sure you are giving to the compassion fund when you fill out your donation.
As the summer is here many of us will slow down with kids out of school, vacations, and family and friends coming into town for a visit. I hope you ALL enjoy the rhythm of the summer! As you are in and out, please remember to keep praying for the ministry and impact of our church, especially as it relates to the Live Oak Performing Arts Center (LOPAC). Here’s where we are today:
Main Street Youth Theater has agreed in principle to join us in this mission! We couldn’t be more excited to see what God is going to do through this friendship.
We have a set of conceptual drawings in hand from Cort/Atkins, and we love them! These drawings become the template for what we are trying to build in the near future.
We have met with the town of Bluffton to share out plans as well as to combine three of our four lots into one lot. This was a required step to move forward. The town is “on board” for our plans!
We are currently meeting with a number of banks and lending institutions as well as fundraising organizations to help us assess our next financial steps.
We are praying for our third partnership to materialize.
Church, these are VERY exciting times, and there are a myriad of loose ends and potential pitfalls, which is why your prayers are SO very important. This summer, please remember to pray for Live Oak and the LOPAC every Monday at 1:30, and commit to a day of fasting (from something) on the 21st of every month.
We’ll continue to keep you posted, and we look forward to what comes next!
P.S. Maybe this will help you see it a little better!
