New Sermon Series
Join us this Sunday as we start a new sermon series, One Week, The Last Week of Christ.
Marriage Retreat - April 5th & 6th
Do any of you have experience with gardening? You don’t have to be a botanist expert to know that gardens don’t bloom full of gorgeous flowers without pulling weeds and planting seeds. In the same way, you can’t expect your marriage to blossom full of love without the same effort – pulling weeds and planting seeds in the soil of your daily life.
That’s why we are so excited stream Habits Of A Healthy Marriage, and new video resource from pastor and best-selling author Paul David Tripp. He’ll teach us the necessary habits that need to be planted for a healthy marriage while identifying the bad habits that need to be uprooted.
Our venue for this weekend event on April 5th & 6th will be beautiful Hewitt Oaks with dinner and breakfast provided by Southern Graces Catering and Events. Your stomach, your soul and your spouse will thank you for making this investment in your marriage!
Cost is $50/couple.
Friday night’s session is 6:30-9:30pm.
Saturday’s session is 9:00am - noon.
Soles4Souls - April 21st
It’s that time of year once again! For the last 9 years Easter Sunday is also known as Barefoot Sunday at Live Oak! We will be collecting shoes (any size, any type, any condition) to send to Soles4Souls. So while you are cleaning your closets out and determining what may or may not bring you joy, set aside the shoes for us! Our goal is 1000 pairs. We have come close to this number the last couple of years, let’s make it happen this time! Ask your neighbors and coworkers to donate too.
Starting Point - April 28th
IF you are new to Live Oak, this is the class for you! Spend 90 minutes learning about the vision, mission, values, and beliefs of the church. While this is Live Oak's "membership" class, it is very low key and low pressure, and is open for anyone who wants to know more about us.
Class will be held on April 28th, in the Connections Cafe at Bluffton School of Dance during the second service.
Immediately following the class, lunch will be served at our Ministry Center, 14 Palmetto Way. Join some of our leadership for a no strings attached family lunch so you can get to know us a little better over a meal.
Kairos Prison Ministry - April 25th-28th
The next Kairos weekend is April 25 - 28th. Most of us know what that means! For those that don’t, it means it’s cookie time! Each time our guys go into the Ridgeland Correctional Facility for a Kairos weekend, they bring homemade cookies for the inmates and staff. If you are interested in baking some cookies, be sure to follow this recipe. Bring your cookies into the office by Tuesday, April 23rd.
If you don’t bake, you can sign up to pray during specific times throughout that weekend or make a financial donation to help cover the cost associated with the weekend. Contact Andre Nougaret or Bob Keane with any questions.
