If you are new to Live Oak, this class is for you! Join us during the second service on Sunday, October 20th, in the Connections Cafe. This class will show you how to get started at Live Oak. You will learn all about our history, mission, beliefs, values, and vision. You’ll have plenty of time to ask any questions you may have about us.

Immediately after the class head over to Oscar Frazier Park for our annual church picnic. It’s a great opportunity to get to know our members.

Church Picnic (10.20.19)

One of our favorite days of the year is coming up on October 20th! The annual church picnic! It’s a chance to just hang out with our framily (Friends + Family = Framily)! Right after the second service on the 20th, head over to Oscar Frazier Park in the Bluffton Rotary Building for lunch! We are supplying the chicken (fried and baked), paper goods, and drinks. You all just need to bring your favorite potluck dish to share!

There is a playground for the kids to play on as well as a large open field, so bring some games so everyone can get involved! See you on the 20th!

Child Dedication

If you want to place your parenting under the lordship of Christ, this service is for you. The practice of dedicating children is rich in church and biblical tradition. God's word speaks abundantly about the responsibility of parents in passing the torch of faith to their children. This dedication service is more about the parents than the kids. It is you who will stand up in view of your church family and proclaim your intentions to do all within your power to raise your children to know and follow Jesus. It is you who will invite into your parenting both the encouragement and accountability of your Live Oak church family.

Be sure to register so we know which service you will be attending!

Man Church (10.16.19) & Men’s Breakfast (10.19.19)

Man Church starts this month on the 16th! We will meet at the Ministry Center at 7:00pm for worship, word, and prayer. The topic this month is Why we were created.

Then on Saturday, October 19th, we will gather once again at the Ministry Center for breakfast and to dive a little deeper into the topic from Wednesday night. Breakfast will start at 7:30am.

Man Church and Men’s breakfast will be recurring events, so mark your calendars for the 3rd Wednesday and Saturday each month. Come and be a part of a fellowship of Live Oak Men where you can learn, share and grow in your faith!

Be sure to stop by the Kairos table in the Connections Cafe this Sunday. You can pick up a container for cookies, along with recipes. Sharing homemade cookies with the inmates at Ridgeland Correctional Institution is a highlight of the Kairos weekend. Not only do the inmates in the Kairos program get cookies, but every inmate in the facility. That is 1200 inmates! And they don’t just get one cookie! They get multiple cookies delivered throughout the weekend. 42,000 cookies! WOW! Please help our team by baking a few dozen! They are needed by Sunday, October 20th.

In addition to cookies you can help offset the cost of the weekend with a financial donation. And one of the most powerful aspects of the weekend is when they stretch out the prayer chain and tell the inmates that each link represents someone praying for them over the course of the weekend! Can you imagine a paper chain that reaches around a gym several times! Be a link in that chain!
