Boys and Girls Club Clean up
Clean up day is TODAY!!! 9:00 - noon! Here's the wish list to get accomplished before summer camp starts:
1. Largest project is painting the inside doors and trim. Of course the areas would need wiping down to remove the human oil (the baby's handprints) before taping and painting blue.
2. Organize the following closets: (a) Janitor's closet (near the teen center). It's full of tools and stuff. (b) Gift closet in the learning center need a touch-up job. (c) And the Pods behind the gym.
3. If it's not Raining: (a) Paint the white & yellow lines in the parking lot (and possibly the poles), (b) Clean the 15 passenger vans and the short bus, (c) Picnic tables assembled, and (d) Bike repairs.
4. General Cleaning throughout the building (e.g. windows, art room/cultural arts floors mopped, dusting, sanitizing, etc.)
All Ages are welcomed to help out. We can put any and everyone to work!
New Month, New Cause
This June, we are partnering with buildOn to provide bricks to build schools in developing nations! Every 6 check-ins at [name of church] will provide one brick to build a school. buildOn’s mission is to build schools in villages that historically have had no adequate school structure. buildOn has built more than 1000 schools in seven countries around the world: Burkina Faso, Haiti, Mali, Malawi, Nepal, Nicaragua and Senegal. This month, check-ins at our location are going towards building a school in Malawi. If you want to learn more about buildOn, you can check them out at http://www.buildon.org. The hashtag this month is #bricks4schools.
Thanks for checking in to help build a school in Malawi!
Nigeria Mission Trip
In July, there will be a few moms and sons from Live Oak going to Jos, Nigeria, to help the Miles Family conduct a Vacation Bible School and also help Care Africa prepare the new school, opening this Fall. This team needs our help! On June 17th, there will be a table set up in the Connections Cafe to collect the following items: White over the ankle socks for both boys and girls in all sizes, Boys boxer briefs all sizes, Girls underwear all sizes, bath soap, and flip flops (kid's sizes). In addition, if you would like to make a monetary donation to help the team, you can do so that morning as well.
It's almost time to help Low Country Presbyterian Church host the Family Promise families! Can you help out by providing dinner one night? Or maybe spend the night? You get your own room and bed! Our weeks are June 24 - July 7. If you can help email Judy Frost at firstname.lastname@example.org. This is a great house church community service project.
It's that time once again! We know everyone will be coming and going over the next few weeks! If you are a volunteer, be sure to stay in contact with your team leaders. If you know you are going to be out, make arrangements for someone to fill your shoes! Kid's ministry volunteers, be sure to sign up for when you are going to be here!
In addition, don't forget us! You can watch the sermon on Sunday mornings on our app or Facebook page. And you can continue to give while you are gone through our app or website! Remember, we are still here even if you are off enjoying the waves, visiting grandma, or riding rides with the mouse!
