Green Bag Sunday

It's Green Bag Sunday once again!  Be sure to get a green bag after services this week and fill it up with Jelly (no peanut butter).  Bluffton Self Help has plenty of peanut butter right now but no jelly.  Let's help them solve this dilemma!  After all peanut butter without jelly is like macaroni with no cheese, milk with no cookies, you get the idea!  Bring your bags back on Sunday, September 10th, overflowing with Jelly!

Volunteering at Live Oak

Do you want one of these awesome t-shirts?  Just join one (or more) of our volunteer teams and the shirt is yours!  It's easy to do.  Just download the volunteer handbook (click here), read through it, complete an application and turn it into the church office.  Someone will be in touch within a week of you turning in your application.  If your not sure where your talents would be most beneficial, let us know and we can help you decide!

House Churches

House churches are where #realcommunity begins.  House Churches consist of at least 3 families/individuals committed to meeting at least 2 times a month, and participating in 1 service project a quarter.  These groups typically share a meal, consistently meet to study the word, and invest in each others lives.  We are getting ready to kick off the fall schedule with some new house churches.  If you are interested in finding out more information check out  We have groups meeting on different days/nights of the week at various locations.  Connect with a group and see what an impact your house church can have on you, your family, and our community.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Matthew 28:19

Are you ready to lead others to Christ?

This 11 week study will teach you how to share your faith and ultimately increase the Kingdom.  The class will be broken into 3 sections: 4 weeks of introduction and teaching about discipleship, 4 weeks of guided independent study through the major themes of scripture, 3 weeks of follow up and leadership application at Live Oak.

Classes will be held twice per week to ensure you have an opportunity to make one or the other.  They start on Saturday, September 9th and Wednesday, September 13th, at the Ministry Center.  You do have to register for this class.

New Month, New Cause

For the month of September, we are excited to partner with Haiti Partners to empower through education. Every 10 check-ins will provide a day of school to a child in Haiti.

Haiti Partners’ mission is to help Haitians change Haiti through education. They currently run one flagship school, partner with six more. Over 25 years of in-country experience has shown that the most fertile terrain for sustainable change in Haiti is through a high quality, community-based education that teaches students and parents active learning strategies and prepares them to be agents of change in their community and country.  If you want to learn more about Haiti Partners, you can check them out at The hashtag this month is #school4kids.

Thanks for checking in to help change Haiti through education!
