This Sunday Pastor Michael will deliver a VERY important message - a "state of the church" message to celebrate all that God accomplished in 2016 and to cast a clear vision for 2017. Please make every effort to attend one of our three services this Sunday morning.

Are you new to Live Oak and want to get connected?  The Engagement Pathway is where you need to start!  Our first Guest Lunch of 2017 will be on January 15th, at 1:00pm, at the church office.  This is a very informal lunch where you can get to know us and we can get to know you! (And it's a free lunch on a Sunday!)  You can register here.

The next step is baptism.  If you are ready to accept Christ as your savior we are ready to baptize you!  Contact the office and let us know so you can meet with Pastor Michael.  Our next Baptism Sunday is January 22nd.

The last step is our Launch Class, this is our Membership or owner class.  When you are ready to own the mission of your faith and our church this class is for your.  Our next Launch class is Tuesday, January 24th, at 6:30pm at the church office.  You can register here.  This class will provide more in-depth information on the church and how you can get involved in volunteering, community groups, classes, etc.

If you have any questions about any of these, contact Jamie Haight at

Several of our men will be going behind the fence at Ridgeland Correctional Facility to serve at Kairos.  In addition to prayer and financial assistance, they need COOKIES!  Below is the specific recipe to use for Kairos.  The cookies need to be delivered to church on Sunday, January 8th.  Please bag cookies in quart size ziplock bags.

Chocolate Chip

3/4 cup Crisco shortening
1-1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar 2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg

1-3/4 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Combine shortening, sugar, milk and vanilla in a large bowl, mix until well blended. Add egg and mix well. In a separate bowl combine flour, salt and baking soda, mix well. Add to shortening/sugar mixture until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies or 11 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies. Makes 3 dozen cookies.

Be sure to grab a green bag this Sunday.  Instead of non-perishables for Bluffton Self Help this month, we will be collecting Vitamins (NO GUMMIES) for adults and children.  Pastor Michael & Carmen Marflak will be going to India in February on a mission trip with Care India and they have requested they bring as many bottles of vitamins as they can!  Let's help fill their suitcases.  Our goal is 100 bottles of vitamins.

Compassion Christian Church (formerly Savannah Christian Church) is planning a mission trip to Island Christian Church in the Ukraine, June 17-26, 2017.  The purpose of the trip is two-fold, construction and a youth sports camp.  The trip is open to both men and women.  The cost of the trip is $2300.  Compassion Christian church would like to have 2-3 people from Live Oak join this trip.  If you are interested, please go here to register.  There is team meeting on January 11th at the Henderson Campus of Compassion Christian Church.  Brian Baker at CCC is available to talk to anyone interested in this trip, his email is
